The Chicago Bears uniform history has mainly remained even-keel over the latter portion of the NFL’s modern era. However, the uniform, much like its rival the Green Bay Packers, has seen more than a few noticeable changes throughout the years. Beginning in 1960, this timeline will document each change the uniform has seen.
The uniforms for the 1960 Bears originated in 1957 – they displayed navy blue helmet shells, white facemasks, blue home jerseys, orange striping, white numbering with orange trim, white pants, navy-orange-navy pants trim, navy socks, orange striping, and black shoes.
The road look contained a white jersey with navy numbers, orange outlines, and three horizontal stripes, two navy and one orange.
Another version of the socks showed white trim outlining the orange striping.
Orange striping containing white outlines became permanent on the socks while a similar pattern matched the sleeves.
